a. For Divorced Spouse: Certified copy of final Divorce Decree issued by Family Court / District Court.
b. For Widowed Spouse: Official Death Certificate of the deceased spouse.
6. Documents Required if Party is Foreign National
For court marriage in Guwahati involving an NRI or Foreign National spouse:
a. Single Status Certificate / No Objection Certificate (NOC): Issued by the Embassy / High Commission / Consulate of their respective Country.
b. Valid Passport & Visa / OCI Card: Proof of legal stay in India.
7. Post-Social Marriage Registration Documents
If the couple is registering their marriage after a social / religious wedding ceremony (under personal laws or Section 16 of Special Marriage Act):
• Marriage invitation card, temple/religious certificate, or photographs of the wedding ceremony establishing social marriage.
